Are you suffering from a runny itchy nose?
There is a solution
Experience Allergy relief with Dr Leeman
Our physicians’ treatment methods address the root cause of allergy symptoms including:
- Itchy, watery eyes
- Sinus congestion
- Sore throat
- Shortness of breath
Through the process of desensitization, our Austin allergy treatments will gradually train your body not to overreact to dusts, molds, pets and pollen in the air. Over time, your immune system learns to tolerate and then ignore the allergens, providing long-lasting results.
What is Allergy123?
Allergy123 is an FDA approved, minimally-invasive testing and treatment method for allergies that reaches closer to their root cause and treats that, instead of merely treating symptoms. Treating 58 of the most common allergies, it offers a permanent solution for life-long allergy relief.
Unlike most traditional allergy shot programs that require users to be seven years and older, our methods are safe and effective for children of all ages — infants and up.
How does it work?
Allergy123 comprises an initial very advanced (and entirely bloodless) testing session, followed by 6-weeks of tailored immunotherapy treatment for your allergies. The immunotherapy, recognized and approved by the FDA, is entirely customized to you and works by cautiously increasing the volume of injected amounts of a particular allergen in gradually increasing doses, to help your body develop immunity and tolerance to the allergens.
Am I a candidate for Allergy123?
Patients for whom Allergy123 is likely to be an ideal allergy treatment include those who:
- Experience itch or water eyes
- Often have a runny or plugged nose and bouts of sneezing
- Patients who care for or have house pets
- Patients with asthma, a chronic cough, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis or conjunctivitis
- Patients who do not have certain uncommon medical conditions and prior adverse reactions to prior medications.
How is testing done?
With Allergy123, testing is streamlined and simplified, with a patented and FDA-approved testing technology. A single, simple 15 minute test, will assess and identify the presence of 58 of the most common local airborne allergens. Testing is done with a skin prick on the forearms during an appointment that requires a total of 45 minutes.
How do I prepare for testing?
Preparation for allergy testing in Austin is simple and straightforward. No dietary or lifestyle changes are required before testing, however you will need to cease taking any antihistamines, cough medications and sleeping aids for 48 hours (2 days) before your testing.
Will insurance cover the cost?
Most insurance does cover the cost of both the testing and treatments. To be sure and avoid any unwanted potential surprises, we will check with your insurance provider beforehand.
How many treatments and how often?
Five treatments are done in all, with each treatment done 6 weeks apart. If due to an unexpected event you are unable to make it to one of your appointments, kindly rescheduling for the week before or the week after will ensure you continue to get the benefits of treatment. Following the effective treatment protocol, patients will be given a continuing regimen of injections that can be self-administered for 18 months, at which time another round of testing can be conducted and the treatment ended or refined.
Can I still take asthma and allergy meds during immunotherapy?
Yes. Postponing your asthma and allergy or other medications is only required for the 2 days prior to your initial testing and no longer.
